BlurDrop — Community Guidelines
Effective date: August 20, 2026
BlurDrop is a place to send a hidden moment to a friend and capture their honest reaction. It only works if it stays fun, consensual, and safe. These Guidelines explain what's welcome here and what isn't. They apply to everything on BlurDrop — challenges, reactions, usernames, profile photos, and anything you share through the app.
By using BlurDrop you agree to follow these Guidelines. Breaking them can lead to content removal, losing features, or losing your account. Some violations are also reported to the authorities.
Who can use BlurDrop
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, if it's higher) to use BlurDrop. If you're under that age, you can't have an account. We use an age check at sign-up, and we remove accounts we believe belong to underage users.
Give accurate information about yourself. Don't create an account for someone else or pretend to be another person.
The core idea
Don't use the blur to expose someone to something they didn't consent to see, and don't use a reaction to hurt someone. The hidden-content mechanic is for surprise and delight — not for tricking people into reacting to shocking, harmful, or abusive material.
What's not allowed
Child safety — zero tolerance
We have zero tolerance for any content that sexualizes, endangers, or exploits minors. This includes child sexual abuse material (CSAM), sexualized depictions of minors (real, drawn, or AI-generated), grooming, and any attempt to solicit or share such material. We remove it, permanently ban the account, preserve evidence, and report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and relevant authorities. Never send sexual or romantic messages to a minor.
Sexual content and nudity
No pornography, sexual acts, or content intended to arouse. No nudity or sexually explicit imagery, and no using the blur to hide it and reveal it during a reaction. No sexual harassment, unsolicited sexual content, or requests for sexual content.
Violence, gore, and dangerous acts
No graphic violence, gore, or shocking "gross-out" content — especially not hidden under a blur to provoke a reaction. Don't promote, glorify, or provide instructions for violence, weapons made to harm people, or dangerous acts that could lead to serious injury.
Hate and discrimination
No content that attacks, dehumanizes, or promotes hatred or violence against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, disability, disease, age, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity. No hateful symbols or slurs.
Harassment, bullying, and threats
Don't target, degrade, or intimidate anyone. No threats of violence, no encouraging others to harass someone, no sharing a person's reaction to mock, shame, or bully them. Sending repeated unwanted challenges to someone is harassment.
Self-harm and suicide
Don't promote, encourage, or provide instructions for suicide, self-harm, or disordered eating. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a local crisis line or a trusted person — BlurDrop is not a place to seek or provide crisis help.
Nonconsensual and privacy-violating content
Respect other people's privacy and consent. Don't record, share, or blur content that captures someone in a private moment without their consent. No sharing someone else's private information (doxxing) — addresses, phone numbers, financial or identity details. No intimate images shared without consent.
Illegal and regulated activity
Don't use BlurDrop to buy, sell, or facilitate anything illegal — drugs, weapons, stolen goods, or regulated products. No content that promotes serious crime, human exploitation, or terrorism.
Impersonation and deception
Don't impersonate people, brands, or organizations. Don't run fake or bot accounts, or coordinate to mislead or manipulate others.
Spam and scams
No spam, mass unsolicited links, phishing, fraud, pyramid or "get-rich-quick" schemes, or attempts to artificially inflate activity. Don't misuse the share link to distribute unrelated or malicious content.
Intellectual property
Only share content you have the right to share. Don't post material that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, or other rights. We respond to valid takedown notices and remove infringing content. (See our copyright/DMCA process in the Terms of Service.)
Rules that are specific to BlurDrop
The blur is not a trap. Whatever you hide under the blur must follow every rule above. Using the hidden layer to surprise someone with prohibited content is a serious violation, even if the reveal is "just a joke."
Reactions are consensual. When you record a reaction, your camera captures your face — that's the point of the app, and by reacting you agree to it. Only record yourself, in a place where you're comfortable being on camera. Don't record other people without their knowledge.
Reels are shared responsibly. The split-screen reel you can download shows a real person's reaction. Don't post someone's reaction to embarrass, harass, or endanger them, and don't add prohibited content to a reel. Be especially careful with reactions from people who may not expect to be shared publicly.
Reporting and blocking
If you see something that breaks these Guidelines:
- Report it — use the report option on a challenge, a reaction, or a profile. Tell us the category so we can prioritize.
- Block anyone you don't want to interact with. Blocking stops them from sending you challenges or seeing your activity.
Reports are confidential. We review reports and act on violations, usually within 24 hours; content in the most serious categories may be hidden automatically while we review.
What happens when the rules are broken
Depending on the severity and history, we may:
- remove the content;
- limit or remove features from your account;
- warn or temporarily suspend your account;
- permanently ban you from BlurDrop;
- preserve evidence and report to law enforcement (required for child-safety violations).
The most serious violations — child sexual abuse, credible threats of violence, and similar — result in an immediate permanent ban with no warning.
Appeals
If you believe we made a mistake, you can appeal an enforcement decision by contacting us at support@blurdrop.com. Tell us what happened and why you think the decision was wrong, and we'll take another look.
Changes
We may update these Guidelines as BlurDrop grows and as we learn what keeps the community safe. We'll post the updated version here with a new effective date, and significant changes will be communicated in the app.
